In the semi-final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, both Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer scored centuries, while Mohammad Shami took seven wickets. In the final on November 19, Rohit Sharma and the Men in Blue, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, will face each other at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

“Today’s semi-final has become even more special due to outstanding individual performances. Remember @MdShami11’s bowling in this game and throughout the World Cup; cricket lovers will remember it for generations. Well played, Shami!” PM Modi said.

Not only did you score the most runs in knockout matches, but you also took wickets, seizing control of the semi-final in a spectacular manner! Now, it’s time to prepare for the final – bring on the adrenaline, #TeamIndia! Let’s swirl, swing, and move towards victory! The stadium buzzing, the nation rallying – united in the love of the game! Let’s bring it home! India will play… India will shine… India will win,” wrote Central Minister Anurag Thakur.

“Congratulations, friends! Team India has reached the final of the World Cup 2023! Beating New Zealand in the semi-finals, their eyes are now set on the ultimate glory. Every player is a star, and we are ready for a spectacular display of cricket in the final! Luck is with you, Team India – break it! The cup is calling!” tweeted Central Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Congress leader and former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin congratulated the Indian cricket team for their significant win on November 15. “Every Indian batsman played well. I want to congratulate Virat Kohli and all our team’s batsmen. It was an overall excellent performance. Mohammad Shami,” said the news agency ANI, quoting Azharuddin, “played really well. I hope India will win the World Cup.”
